What is The Eastern Festival?
The Eastern Festival is a thee-day horseracing festival that takes place every September at Great Yarmouth Racecourse.
Day 1 - Opening Day is the perfect way to kickstart the festival. Whether you're looking to capture the rising stars in the sport or simply looking to enjoy a great mid-week day out, Day 1 is not a day to overlook.
Day 2 - John Musker Fillies Stakes is named after the feature race on the card. Won in previous years by So Mi Dar under Frankie Dettori, Shaara trained by the leading race trainer John & Thady Gosden, and Sapphire Seas for Charlie Appleby.
Day 3 - Ladies Day see out the Eastern Festival in style with Ladies Day, featuring the fantastic Style Awards! Dress to impress to be in the chance of winning £500 cash! Full details on how to enter can be found below.
Tickets
For those who have already purchased their tickets, we look forward to welcoming you! You will receive your e-ticket no later than 24 hours in advance of the raceday. If you have any queries, please don't hesitate to get in contact with us.

Our hospitality packages are selling FAST to the Eastern Festival, with many packages already sold out.

Ladies Day Style Awards
Looking to dress to impress and be in the chance of winning a huge cash prize? Why not enter the Ladies Day Style Awards on Thursday 19th September.
Competition Opens: The competition opens at 12:50. Head to the flower wall by the Hoops Champagne Bar & Lawn, where our Style Awards team will take your photo and contact details. Once your image has been taken, you're in!
Competition Closes: The competition will close just before the third race at 15:20. Don't miss out! Finalists will be contacted.
Final Judging: At 15:50 finalists will head back to the Hoops Champagne Bar & Lawn for the final judging after the forth race and the 2024 Style Awards winner will be announced!

Parking & Travel Information
We get extremely busy at the Eastern Festival. For those driving to the racecourse, we recommend arriving early to secure a parking spot. Parking is available on a first come, first serve basis. If you require accessible parking, please speak to our stewards on the day.
Where possible, we recommend car sharing to avoid congestion on roads and to ease the car park flow.
The nearest train station is Great Yarmouth Station, situated two miles north of the racecourse, There are a few bus routes from here including Sanders Coaches X6 and Arriva No 8,
We recommend all racegoers organise their transportation in advance.
Weather
We are hoping the weather will on our side during the Eastern Festival, with predicted highs of 20 degrees as of Friday 13th September.
However, we urge racegoers to check the weather forecast ahead of the day and dress appropriately.
We encourage all racegoers to keep hydrated throughout the day.
Food & Drink
Picnics are permitted in our General Enclosure only. Please note, drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) are not permitted across all enclosures. Tap water is available in all bars across site.
We provide a wide variety of food and drink concessions including fish and chips, burgers and cocktails.
Security
We take security and safety very seriously. There will be a strong security presence and you will be subject to a big search on arrival. Please be patient and limit the bags you bring.
Remember, no food or drink can be brought into the racecourse unless you are in the General Enclosure.
We ask all visitors to keep their belongings with them at all times. Please do not leave bags unattended. Report anything suspicious to a member of staff.

Payment
We are a largely cash-free site. All bars and eateries are card only.
Our Totes and Bookmarkers will accept cash and card.
There are no cash machines on site, so please consider this ahead of time.
Dogs
With the exception of Assistance Dogs, dogs are not allowed to enter the racecourse. In the interests of animal welfare, no dogs are permitted to be left in cars and Great Yarmouth Racecourse politely request that all dogs are left at home.
